Richard A. (Dick) Peterson

Northeast Agriculture Technology Corp
Honorary Member
County of Residence: Tompkins County

Board term ends 2025

Dick grew up on a dairy farm and has worked in agriculture his entire life. After graduating from Cornell, he began a career at New York State Electric and Gas as an Agricultural Engineer. He then became manager of Agricultural Customer Services, a position he held for 23 years, until retirement. Farm safety has always been a priority for Dick. He served as President of the Rural Health and Safety Council for several years and then was nominated by NYS Assemblyman Clarence Rappleyea to serve on the advisory board of the newly established New York Center for Agricultural Medicine and Health (NYCAMH). Representing energy suppliers and agricultural services, Dick valued this service opportunity very much. "It has been a distinct honor to work with  NYCAMH leadership, the very talented and dedicated staff, and an advisory board who take their service to NYCAMH and the agricultural community very seriously. I have watched NYCAMH grow from humble beginnings to a national and international force in advancing health and safety programs for agriculture. I served as chair of the advisory board for a number of years and have 'graduated' to Honorary Member, retired."
