Ag Workers' Access to COVID Vaccine Delayed - January 11, 2021
NYS Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced Friday that the launch of COVID-19 vaccines for Phase 1B would begin today (Monday, Jan. 11). Agricultural workers are considered Phase 1B. New York's vaccine supply, however, is limited to what the federal government provides. In Friday's announcement the Governor stated the first rollout of NYS Phase 1B will include the following:
- Teachers and education workers
- First responders
- Public safety workers
- Public transit workers
- People 65 and older
Those who work in other Phase 1B businesses, such as on farms, should continue to check the Governor's website. As the vaccine supply increases, additional groups in NYS Phase 1B will be included. To sign up for updates on the COVID response go to: https://www.governor.ny.gov/
